The Monument is a sculptural table formed by combining red marble and fused crystal glass. I was inspired by the way buildings are placed in a landscape. The rough structure of stone, reminiscent of a landscape profile, forms a contrast to the block of glass towering over the surrounding relief. The visual aspects of this sculptural design are based on the shape of the stone in which the glass is placed. An intervention occurs in the already defined structure, which is then modified to place the molten sculpture.
